Columbus house fire intentionally set by one of three left dead, police say

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Police now believe that a house fire that left three dead and two others hurt was intentionally set.

Columbus police said Wednesday that the fire, which broke out during the early morning hours of Tuesday in the 2900 block of Freedom Trail, was set by Cheikh Dieye, one of the people inside.

Dieye, 25, was killed in the fire, along with his parents, Safietou Diop, 57, and Mame Dieye, 61. Among those injured in the fire were a toddler reportedly thrown out a window and a woman who jumped from the burning house. Later in the day, it could be seen that a second-floor window had been broken out.
