60 grams of meth discovered during traffic stop in Ohio

Freeport, OH (WTRF) – A traffic stop in the Village of Freeport on November 24, 2025, led to the arrest of a Belmont County man after deputies recovered drugs from the vehicle.

According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies seized nearly 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine and less than one gram of suspected cocaine during the stop.

The driver, Charles J. Hall of Belmont County, was arrested and taken to the Harrison County Jail. He faces felony charges of Aggravated Possession of Drugs and Tampering with Evidence, under the Ohio Revised Code.

Sheriff Mark Touville credited the arrest to the deputy’s attention to detail and adherence to procedures. He noted the seizure as part of efforts to reduce drug activity in the area.
