One dead, two injured in north Columbus head-on collision

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A two-car collision and a fire caused the death of one man Sunday night after he was trapped in the north Columbus wreckage.

According to Columbus Police, a man was driving a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis eastbound on East Cooke Road, near the Overbrook Drive intersection in Clintonville. At the same time, an adult was heading westbound in a 2025 Toyota Camry, also on E. Cooke Rd.

For reasons still under investigation, the Camry crossed the center lane of the road and struck the Mercury head-on, which caused the Toyota to catch fire.
