OHIO — Gov. Mike DeWine signed a bill into law that would create a escaped convict alert program on Dec. 1.
This is just one part of House Bill 23.
The escaped convict alert program was created to help officials locate and identify convicts who have escaped from a jail, workhouse or correctional institution while incarcerated or awaiting adjudication for a felony. This would not include community-based correctional facilities or halfway houses…
