Flags ordered to be flown at half-staff in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Gov. Mike DeWine has ordered U.S. and Ohio flags to be flown at half-staff.

In honor of the life and service of Lt. James ‘Bryan’ White of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, DeWine has ordered the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio to be lowered upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Madison and Clark counties and at all Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation facilities on Tuesday.

White began his law enforcement career with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and later joined the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the governor’s office said. Following his time with BCI, White was an officer with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division until his death on Dec. 2 after a battle with cancer.

“Lt. White took great pride in serving the state of Ohio in a multitude of cases throughout his career,” said Madison County Sheriff John Swaney in a statement. “He was not only an exceptional law enforcement officer, but a mentor, colleague and friend to many. His loss will be deeply felt throughout the law enforcement community and by all who had the honor of knowing him.”…
