Police searching for man who stole Tide Pods in Ohio

OHIO — The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of stealing over $100 worth of Tide Pods from a Liberty Township grocery store.

Deputies say the theft occurred on Dec. 8 just before 9 a.m. at the Kroger located on Newtown Drive. According to the sheriff’s office, the man left the store with the detergent pods without paying.

In a lighthearted social media post, the sheriff’s office acknowledged the unusual nature of the theft, writing, “Listen, we get it—this isn’t the ‘Heist of the Century.’ But when someone treats Kroger like a free laundry buffet, the rest of us end up paying more for clean socks. And nobody wants that.”…
