COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — four years after 29-year-old Keishon Riley was shot and killed outside the Columbus Square Bowling Palace, two suspects are now in custody and facing murder charges.
Columbus Police announced the arrests of 27-year-old Andre Stromer and Ellis Caldwell this week. Investigators say the pair pulled up in a stolen Ford Escape in May 2021 and opened fire, killing Riley, a father of three. Both men are now charged with murder in connection with the case.
Court documents show detectives linked the vehicle to the crime through DNA found on the front passenger seat, identifying Stromer. Investigators also uncovered text messages from the day of the shooting that they say indicate Stromer coordinated the attack with Caldwell. Stromer appeared in court on Thursday, where a judge set his bond at $1 million.
For Keishon Riley’s mother, Keisha, the arrests mark the first sense of progress she’s felt since the night her son was killed.
“I remember it like it’s yesterday,” she said. “I wasn’t going to rest until the people responsible were held accountable.”
Riley says she’s grateful Columbus Police never gave up on her son’s case and believes the arrests will allow her to begin healing…
