The months-long search for a missing Delaware man has come to a somber conclusion as his body was found in a submerged vehicle in the Hoover Reservoir. Trenton Rollins, 21, was reported missing on March 16, after last being seen leaving his home. His car, a dark blue 2018 BMW 430i, was discovered on Monday, December 8, by Chaos Divers, an independent search and rescue organization, and the Columbus Division of Police Dive Team, as reported by The Columbus Dispatch.
According to the Delaware Police Department, the initial investigation suggested that Rollins had left on his own, and foul play was not suspected. Rollins’ mother, hoping for her son’s return, spearheaded efforts to find him, which included social media campaigns and community events. The discovery was made after a vehicle matching the description of Rollins’ BMW was spotted by Chaos Divers using sonar equipment near the Red Bank boat ramp in the Hoover Reservoir.
