Man accused in Applebee’s parking lot attack facing new charges after victim dies

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A man charged with a brutal attack in an Applebee’s parking lot on Brice Road in East Columbus made his first appearance in Franklin County Common Pleas Court on Friday.

Ja’quawn Bridgemon was indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury on Wednesday, charged with murder and assault. He remains locked up in the Franklin County jail.

Police reported that Bridgmon, 27, assaulted a couple with a metal cane on December 1st. 66-year-old Jesse Whistler succumbed to his injuries days later, while his wife was also injured…
