COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The mother of a 6-year-old girl who was fatally beaten was sentenced Friday to prison.
According to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, Ashley Fagan will serve at least 18 years in prison, and as many as 23½, in the death of Eva Bretz, who died April 13 after suffering traumatic injuries.
Bretz was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition after officers were called to an apartment at The Bradford at Easton Luxury Apartment Homes on Migration Lane, just north of Easton Town Center. Police were told that the girl was sick, according to reports from the 911 emergency call.
