The 2025 Heisman Trophy will be awarded to the best player in college football this season on Saturday. The ceremony airs at 7 p.m. ET on ABC from New York, with finalists Fernando Mendoza of the Indiana Hoosiers, Diego Pavia of the Vanderbilt Commodores, Jeremiyah Love of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Julian Sayin of the Ohio State Buckeyes in attendance.
The Ohio State redshirt freshman quarterback completed 279 of 356 passes for 3,323 yards, 31 touchdowns and six interceptions. He led the nation in completion percentage (78.4) and quarterback rating (182.1) as the Buckeyes enter the College Football Playoff with a 12–1 record.
Sayin is considered a long shot to win the Heisman, with Mendoza (-4000) the heavy favorite among oddsmakers. The odds moved strongly in Mendoza’s favor after he led Indiana to a 13-10 win over Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game, leaving the Hoosiers as the only 13-0 team in the country.
