Teenager arrested in fatal shooting near Nationwide Children’s Hospital pleads guilty

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A teenager arrested in a homicide near Nationwide Children’s Hospital nearly two years ago was tried as an adult and pleaded guilty to a one of five charges.

According to court records, 19-year-old Marvin Holt was sentenced to at least 10 years in prison and up to 13½ years for the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Larry Edwards, who drove himself to the hospital after being shot in his car in the 400 block of Parsons Avenue.

Columbus police responded to the area at around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 29, 2024, when Edwards walked into the Nationwide Children’s Hospital with a gunshot wound suffered while driving his car nearby. For a previous report on this story view the video player above.

Police taped off the hospital itself overnight and were focusing its investigation on Parsons Avenue, near the entrance of the hospital but did not have any immediate leads in the case…
