Woman killed, another injured in east Columbus head-on crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A woman is dead and another is injured after a head-on collision Monday evening in east Columbus.

Columbus police said that at 7:24 p.m., a vehicle pulled from a parking lot to go west on East 17th Avenue near Rarig Avenue. A woman driving a Ford was going west at the time on East 17th Ave. and drove left of the center to avoid the other vehicle.

The Ford went into the eastbound lanes of East 17th Ave. and crashed into a Chevrolet head-on. The driver of the Ford was taken to OSU East Hospital in stable condition but later went into critical condition. Medical staff pronounced her dead a short time later, per police.

Police said the female driver of the Chevrolet was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center and is in stable condition. Anyone with additional details on the crash is asked to contact CPD’s accident investigation unit at (614) 645-4767…
