COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Mothers of Murdered Columbus Children and the Columbus Division of Police are reporting a historic drop in violent crime this year.
“This is not a celebration,” MOMCC Founder Malissa Thomas St. Clair said Wednesday. “This is hope. This is evidence that intentional collaboration saves lives.”
The city has recorded 81 homicides in 2025 so far, putting the city on track to finish under 100 homicides for the first time since 2015. It’s a shift that leaders credit to Operation Under Triple Digits and changes in how violent crime is investigated and prevented.
