Man arrested after boy uses his gun to fatally shoot 11-year-old family member

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A 14-year-old boy and a man are facing charges after police said the child unintentionally shot and killed an 11-year-old girl with the adult’s gun.

On Friday, Matthew Seymour, 33, was arrested on charges of involuntary manslaughter and endangering children in connection with the fatal shooting of his niece Amya Frazier, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with reckless homicide on Dec. 11. Police said the child unintentionally shot Frazier in the 200 block of S. Wheatland Ave. in the Hilltop on Dec. 5. She was transported to a local hospital and later succumbed to her injuries on Dec. 8, according to police.

Seymour, the boy and Frazier are all related. NBC4 is not naming the child because he has not been charged as an adult…
