COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The family of Corrections Officer Andrew Lansing has filed a lawsuit against the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC), alleging systemic failures within the department led to his death.
The lawsuit was filed one day before the one-year anniversary of Lansing’s killing at the Ross Correctional Institution in Chillicothe. Lansing was brutally attacked and killed on Christmas Day after volunteering to work a 16-hour shift.
