Suspect Arrested in Columbus After Four-Year Investigation into $250K Jewelry Burglary

Nearly four years after a burglary resulted in the loss of over $250,000 worth of jewelry in Columbus, an arrest has finally been made. The Columbus Division of Police, via a social media post, shared the progression of an investigation that began on January 2, 2022, when officers were called to the 5000 block of Tuttle Crossing. “The victim reported several smashed glass cases and over $250,000 of missing jewelry,” detailed the post from the Columbus Division of Police.

As the case unfolded over the years, it didn’t reach a turning point until November, when a warrant was filed for the arrest of Dashaun Allen, now 24 years old. The warrant issuance followed after evidence from the scene was processed. Allen was arrested on Wednesday by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, facing charges directly stemming from the burglary incident.
