Gas prices drop nationwide, but not in central Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The holiday week reprieve of central Ohio gas prices was short-lived after the entire state fell victim to price-cycling once again.

According to GasBuddy’s survey of 500 stations in and around Columbus, Ohio, gas prices rose 26.6 cents per gallon from last week, nearly erasing a 33.7 cent decrease the previous week, to average out at $2.79 per gallon. The current price is now 20.2 cents per gallon higher than four weeks ago but remains 29.5 cents per gallon lower than this time one year ago.
