A crowded motorhome carrying 15 people from Ohio overturned early Saturday morning after a collision in Marion County, leaving a five-year-old boy dead and injuring more than a dozen others.
The crash occurred just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of US-27 and County Road 316. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the motorhome was headed south on US-27 when it collided with an SUV driving west on CR-316. The force of the impact caused the huge recreational vehicle to tip over.
Troopers stated that a five-year-old boy inside the motorhome was pronounced deceased on the scene. Twelve additional passengers were transported to nearby hospitals in critical condition.
