City of Worthington begins deer removal operations

WORTHINGTON, Ohio — The City of Worthington said it is prioritizing safety during its deer removal operations, which start this month and extend through late February and maybe into March.

The city said in a post on its website that the city council unanimously agreed to a Deer Management Program, based on recommendations from the Deer Task Force.

“The highest priority of this program is public safety,” the post reads. “The program is highly controlled, safety-focused, and carried out only by highly trained federal wildlife professionals. It is designed to help reduce deer-related concerns, including vehicle collisions, over-browsing, and other conflicts between deer and residents.”…
