When 2026 property taxes will be due in Franklin, Delaware counties

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Important tax due dates are changing for Franklin County property owners, and Delaware County taxpayers will see an earlier-than-usual start to their billing timeline in 2026.

A news release from Franklin County Treasurer Cheryl Brooks Sullivan and Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano outlined the changes to the 2026 property tax payment schedule for owners in Franklin County. However, these adjustments will not change the amount due or interfere with any existing payment plans.

“This change will allow us to better serve the taxpayers of Franklin County by allowing more time between when the bills are mailed to taxpayers and when those payments are due,” Brooks Sullivan said. “This adjustment is part of our ongoing commitment to improving convenience and timely processing.”

Starting in 2026, the new first-half payment due date will be Feb. 28. If a due date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, the payment should be made on the next business day.
