Small earthquake hits Northeast Ohio

MADISON, Ohio — A small earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.6 was recorded late Monday about 2 kilometers northeast of Madison in Lake County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake occurred at 11:50 p.m. at a depth of about 8.2 kilometers, the USGS reported. The event was reviewed by the agency. No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
