Pedestrian killed in north Columbus hit-skip

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle in a northeast Columbus crosswalk Monday night.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, one person was crossing the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Eddystone Avenue in the North Linden neighborhood. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Cleveland Avenue and struck the pedestrian at approximately 10:15 p.m. Monday.

Police said the driver left the scene and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene five minutes later.
