Ohio Court Sentences Oregon Doctor to Two Years for Illegally Selling Prescriptions

An Oregon doctor with a license to practice in Ohio has been sentenced to a two-year prison term, following a guilty plea to charges related to the illegal sale of drug prescriptions, as reported by the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office. Mark Samuel Fettman, aged 78, not only faces incarceration but also must forfeit a substantial sum exceeding $570,000.

During the sentencing, Judge Carl Aveni decreed that Fettman must commence his penal stint, this after the septuagenarian physician acknowledged his culpability in a slew of felonies that include attempted engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, attempted money laundering, and drug trafficking, an ordeal dating back to 2020 when the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy authorized an undercover probe into Fettman’s questionable conduct. A covert agent successfully documented a series of four office consultations wherein Fettman dispensed a 28-day Suboxone prescription on each occasion, charging $290 in cash without obliging the patient to undergo examination, diagnosis, or therapy.
