Mifflin Township down to 2 police officers

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — Mifflin Township officials are facing mounting challenges in maintaining police coverage after voters rejected a police levy in November, leading to staffing shortages and increased reliance on outside law enforcement agencies.

Most officers in the Mifflin Township Police Department have left amid uncertainty about the department’s future. The departures have left the agency with just two remaining personnel, township officials confirmed.

The staffing crisis deepened in late December when an officer resigned while under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
