Police: Patient grabs officer’s gun, fires shot during struggle inside Grove City hospital

GROVE CITY, Ohio — A patient at Mount Carmel Grove City attacked an officer at the hospital, grabbed his firearm and pulled the trigger Wednesday night, resulting in a bullet hitting a wall, according to police.

The Grove City Division of Police says the patient assaulted the armed security officer around 11:57 p.m.

Police say the officer was escorting a patient in a hallway when the patient attacked the officer and grabbed his gun. The firearm stayed holstered, but police say the patient was able to fire the weapon. The bullet hit a wall and did not injure anyone…
