A potent blast of wintry weather is sweeping across several states this Wednesday morning, prompting the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue Winter Weather Advisories for Kentucky, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and portions of Ohio.
Slippery roads, freezing rain, and a light accumulation of snow and ice are all in the mix, creating hazardous travel conditions across the region.
Winter Weather Advisory Active Until Late Morning
The Winter Weather Advisories are in effect through 10 to 12 PM local time, depending on the area. Forecasters at multiple NWS offices—Louisville, Paducah, Wilmington, and Jackson—are warning residents to brace for slick commutes and potential ice on roads, bridges, and sidewalks.
