Rumpke suspends trash, recycling collection Monday

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Rumpke Waste & Recycling has suspended trash and recycling collection for Monday in Columbus and surrounding areas because of weather and road conditions.

Company officials say service will resume on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week, as conditions allow. That means customers normally scheduled for Monday will be collected Tuesday, Tuesday customers on Wednesday, and so on, with Friday collections moved to Saturday.

“We don’t take the decision to suspend services lightly,” said Mark O’Brien, Rumpke’s regional vice president. “However, we must put the safety of our team members, our customers, and the motoring public first.”…
