Central Ohio schools say if you want kids back to class, shovel your sidewalks

Central Ohio schools say that if you want your kids back in school Monday, you need to shovel your sidewalks.

Following Winter Storm Fern, which dropped as much as a foot of snow across large parts of central Ohio on Jan. 25, many local districts and schools have been out of class for the entire week, including the largest districts in the state like Columbus City Schools, South Western City Schools and Olentangy Local Schools.

Districts say they’ll be back in class on Feb. 2. Mike Brown, a spokesperson for CCS, said that the district “intends to return to class Monday,” and said improving road conditions and higher projected temperatures are positive signs that school will be back in session…
