Justin Lally, 44, was charged last month with one count of rape and released Tuesday on a $225,000 bond after a court appearance. The charge comes nearly four years after Lally was fired from the Lithopolis Police Department for allegedly attempting to solicit sex from a minor.

The complaint in Lally’s case is sealed, and the court records do not say the age of the alleged victim. However, the two most recent police chiefs Lally worked for said his arrest was connected to the alleged abuse of a young child.
