UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (WSYX) – Months after 14-year-old Carter Edell took his own life, his parents say they are still searching for answers about what happened during his school day at Hastings Middle School in Upper Arlington and whether bullying allegations played a role.
Keepsakes remain throughout the Edell family’s home, including items from Carter’s activities. Steven Edell said, “This is something the band director sent to us. Something all the marching band members get. That’s his class of 2030.” Carter’s backpack and a ballcap with his football number, 34, are also still there.
The Edells spoke publicly for the first time right before Christmas, which they said was their first without their son. Carter died Sept. 23 of last year after taking his own life…
