Columbus firefighter injured in Franklinton blaze, family displaced

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Columbus firefighter was injured and a family of three has been displaced after a house fire occurred in west Columbus early Thursday morning.

According to the Columbus Division of Fire, crews responded to a home in the 300 block of Dakota Avenue in the Franklinton neighborhood just before 4 a.m. The fire was concentrated in the attic of the home and has since been extinguished.

The family of three was able to escape the home safely, but one firefighter was injured in fighting the blaze and hospitalized. Their condition is unknown and as of this report, no other injuries have been reported.
