Major retailer plans to close Columbus store location

Luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue will permanently close its store at Polaris Fashion Place this spring, according to a WARN notice filed Monday with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

The closure affects 41 employees at the 1500 Polaris Parkway location in Columbus. Layoffs are scheduled to take place between April 11 and April 30, 2026. Positions impacted include sales associates, beauty specialists, managers and operations staff.

In the filing, Janet O. Lee, associate general counsel for Saks & Company LLC, said “the entire facility will close and all employees will be separated from employment” during that period. The company indicated the shutdown is expected to be permanent…
