COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A former Family Dollar store in south Columbus is poised to become a new Amazon facility, according to city building records.
A permit filed Feb. 10 with the city of Columbus shows that Amazon plans to renovate the building at 865 Parsons Ave. The filing was submitted under “Prime Now LLC.”

The renovations include some interior demolition and the installation of new furnishings and finishes, according to the city permit. New racking fixtures will be installed for the storage of pre-packaged food items, including eggs, meats, chips, fruits, vegetables, frozen pizza, ice cream, as well as alcohol.
An Amazon spokesperson told NBC4 partner Columbus Business First that the site is being designed to support fast customer delivery. The Seattle-based company said it will “share more as launch plans firm up down the road.”
The 8,806-square-foot building, which was a Family Dollar store until it closed in 2024, was constructed in 2009, according to Franklin County Auditor’s Office records. The property was most recently sold in 2021 by Nationwide Children’s Hospital to GE Investment Group LLC for $711,600.
