Julian Sayin isn’t the most interesting Ohio State quarterback this spring

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Quarterback is taking a back seat during Ohio State’s offseason for the third time since Ryan Day became the head coach.

Day can go through the next six months without having to worry about announcing who will start, thanks to the luxury of a returner whose description is very similar to the last two times he had a Year 2 starter with Justin Fields in 2020 and C.J. Stroud in 2022. The hierarchy is practically set, making these 15 spring practices starting March 10 more about how the room is growing as a whole than about one person winning a battle.
