ICE agents pepper-spray Columbus mom, three kids inside moving vehicle

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -– A Columbus mom wants two ICE agents investigated after they deployed pepper spray into her open car window, hitting her and three children.

“Our eyes were burning and I had crying kids and you’re helpless,” said the mom, who NBC4 Investigates is not naming over concerns of retaliation. “It’s one of those things where you look back like, ‘How did I manage to drive?’”

Video of the incident shows the mother in her car with three young girls, ages 18, 15 and 11, after shopping at Easton Town Center on Dec. 21. In the video, the 18-year-old is heard calling out in Spanish to another vehicle, warning that ICE was nearby. Then, two ICE agents drive up alongside the mother’s driver’s side window and deploy pepper spray into the vehicle as they pass. Video of the incident will be featured Wednesday during NBC4 at 5.
