COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A Columbus mother is raising concerns about a drug-testing company contracted by Franklin County Children Services after she said a test result came back positive for drugs, even though she maintains it was false.
The mother contacted ABC6 On Your Side investigator Lisa Rantala and asked for an investigation into Averhealth, also known as Avertest. She said the positive result affected her case involving her children with Franklin County Children Services. ABC6 is still looking into her story, but is also asking where taxpayer money is going.
Averhealth is based in Virginia and has contracts with welfare agencies across the country to test for drugs and potential drug use for people subjected to drug screens. Averhealth is listed as a partner with Franklin County Children Services on the agency’s website…
