COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A construction worker is dead after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene just west of Downtown Columbus early Saturday morning.
At about 2:01 a.m., an adult male was operating an early 2000s model maroon Toyota sedan westbound on Interstate 70 approaching State Route 315 when he entered a construction zone, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

The driver then swerved to the right and struck an adult construction worker and a generator. The Toyota fled the scene, and the construction worker was pronounced dead at 2:12 a.m.
The police department’s Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an ongoing investigation. Law enforcement has not yet publicly identified the victim or provided any further information…
