Construction worker killed in I-70 hit-and-run identified by coroner

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has identified a construction worker who was killed by a motorist in an early morning hit-and-run crash on Interstate 70.

Jordan Thomas, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics at 2:12 a.m. Feb. 28 after being struck by a maroon early 2000s model Toyota sedan in a construction zone on Interstate 70 west approaching State Route 315 Downtown, according to the Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit.

Detectives said that the Toyota sedan was traveling west on I-70 when it entered a construction zone and hit Thomas and a generator, according to police. The driver fled the scene…
