Ramadan gathering inside mall ends in panic and chaos after fight, police say

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A Ramadan celebration at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing was cut short early Sunday after a fight broke out and sparked panic among festivalgoers, prompting a heavy police response and an early shutdown of the event.

Videos posted publicly to social media showed people running around at 12:30 a.m. Sunday during a Suhoor festival. Suhoor is a pre-dawn meal during Ramadan, when families, friends, and vendors gather before fasting begins at sunrise to share a pre-dawn meal.
