21-year-old sentenced in 2024 south Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A man was sentenced in a 2024 shooting that killed a 20-year-old in south Columbus.

Lawuan Williams, 21, was sentenced to six to 7.5 years in prison with 18 months to three years of post-release control in connection with the shooting on May 2, 2024, in the 700 block of Reinhard Avenue.

Police said that Najaa Ellman, 20, was in an argument with Williams, who pulled a gun and shot Ellman. Williams, who was 19 at the time, drove off as an unidentified person fired gunshots in his direction…
