Governor Mike DeWine stood before Ohio for the last State of the State Address Tuesday, but what he didn’t saw was more remarkable than what he said, say the hosts of the Today in Ohio podcast.
The address wasn’t empty. DeWine pushed for AI regulations, called for making seat belts a primary traffic offense and doubled down on his Science of Reading initiative — pledging 50 new coaches to reach 70 more schools statewide.
“DeWine’s one hour speech was perhaps notable for the things that he didn’t mention,” said Lisa Garvin. “There were big issues that he didn’t talk about, such as the proliferation of data centers and the increasing pushback by residents… And then there’s no announcement, which we were expecting, of his view on the Ohio death penalty.”…
