High wind causes damage, travel delays across central Ohio

DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH) — High winds caused damage and travel delays Friday across central Ohio.

Delaware County officials said there is significant roof damage to the Powell YMCA.

Multiple semi-trucks also blew over due to the high wind, shutting down Interstate 71 southbound near U.S. 36/State Route 37 and US. 33 near State Route 161.

State Route 315 near Jewett Road is closed in both directions, Delaware County officials said. U.S. 42 is closed at State Route 229 and South Old State Road at North Holland is are also closed for undisclosed reasons.

A downed traffic light was also reported at U.S. 23 and Powell Road…
