COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two people have died and three others were injured Saturday afternoon following an attempted traffic stop in north Columbus that ended in a crash, according to officials.
Sgt. James Fuqua with the Columbus Division of Police told 10TV officers attempted a traffic stop around 3:40 p.m. at Cleveland and East Maynard avenues. Police knew the vehicle was involved in a “previous felony incident” prior to the stop, he said.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the 17-year-old driver of the 2011 Toyota Prius took off, heading westbound on East 19th Avenue when he failed to yield at a stop sign. The Toyota then hit a 2007 Saturn Ion at the intersection of East 19th and Hamilton avenues…
