Franklin County Domestic Relations Court is making employees sign NDAs

In what other court officials call an unusual move, Franklin County Domestic Relations Court employees have been told they must sign a nondisclosure agreement or potentially face termination.

The binding document prevents employees from disclosing confidential issues, including information related to parties, attorneys, witnesses, staff and proceedings before the court. And it follows them even after they leave the office.

Asked what prompted the NDA, Administrative Judge Monica Hawkins said in an email to The Dispatch that it aims to ensure public trust in the court, which handles sensitive information about juveniles, custody issues and divorce cases…
