Columbus man pleads guilty in fatal 2025 shooting of girlfriend

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus man pleaded guilty in connection with the fatal shooting of his girlfriend last year, court records say.

According to Franklin County Common Pleas Court documents, 30-year-old Gage Smith entered a guilty plea on March 12 to one amended count of reckless homicide with a firearm specification and one amended count of possession of drugs.

He was previously charged with murder in the death of 32-year-old Autumn Ward.
