Columbus OKs support for renewable energy choice bill

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Columbus City Council is adding its voice to a growing list of cities supporting more renewable energy choices in Ohio.

Councilmembers passed a resolution urging the statehouse to pass the Community Energy Bill, House Bill 303. Columbus joins Lakewood, Wyoming, and Cleveland Heights, which have passed similar resolutions.

Councilmembers are supporting the bill because they said it could lower electric bills for Columbus residents. The Community Energy Pilot Program would allow for small-scale renewable energy projects across the state.
