DNA evidence connects Columbus man to alleged rape of a minor

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Evidence collected by the Columbus Division of Police has resulted in the arrest of a Columbus man accused of rape.

According to a criminal complaint, CPD officers were called to a home in east Columbus on reports of a sexual assault. Police spoke with the victim, a juvenile, who said that a man had raped her.

The victim was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for a forensic interview, in which she said 39-year-old Marquese Hobson pinned her down to prevent her from pushing him off and sexually assaulted her.

DNA samples were collected during a sexual assault examination and on Feb. 25, detectives submitted evidence connecting Hobson as the person matching the test results…
