HILLIARD, Ohio (WCMH) — Tens of thousands of rounds of unwanted ammunition are no longer in central Ohio homes following the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Hilliard Division of Police’s first ammunition take-back day.
“We were very happy with it; people that showed up, they were happy we were there to help them out to take these things off their hands, they didn’t want anymore,” Franklin County Sheriff’s Det. William Rodock said.
The event took place at the Franklin County Fairgrounds on March 21. Rodock said they held the take-back because they get dozens of calls each year from people asking what to do with old or unwanted ammo. He said a lot of what was dropped off originally belonged to relatives who’ve died…
