Cargill shutdown may raise costs for Ohio grain farmers

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Following the announcement from Cargill that it intends to close its Dayton location, Ohio Corn and Wheat says the closure could not only affect the Miami Valley, but the entire state of Ohio.

Ohio Corn and Wheat, an organization that supports small grain farmers, believes that the announcement will impact local farmers by forcing them to schedule longer deliveries, which means facing higher costs and giving them fewer distribution options.
